Parcels are an Australian electropop five-piece formed in Byron Bay, Australia, in 2014. Today they are based in Berlin, Germany. The band's line-up is composed of keyboardist Louie Swain, keyboardist/guitarist Patrick Hetherington, bassist Noah Hill, drummer Anatole "Toto" Serret, and guitarist Jules Crommelin.

Signed to French label Kitsuné, the band rose to prominence after collaborating with the electronic duo Daft Punk on the production and writing of their 2017 single "Overnight".

Parcels describe themselves as "sort of a blend between electro-pop and disco-soul".

On 12 October 2018, the band released Parcels, their first full length album (Recorded and mixed at Bewake Studios, former Mesanic Music in Berlin by Martin "Lucky" Waschkowitsch), and including the hit single 'Tieduprightnow'. In an interview, Hill said the album's sound was "a little less slick, and a little less disco", than previous records. The album was 12 tracks, spanning just over 50 minutes. Singles "Tieduprightnow", "Lightenup", "Withorwithout", and "Tape" were accompanied by music videos.

I came into this album with rather high expectations and a strange history with the band. I distinctly remember hearing a single of theirs (I believe it was overnight? Not 100% on that...) and wanting to hear more but being disappointed that they didn't have a full release yet. Luckily enough they twirled back into my radar via YouTube recommendations, and this has to be my favorite surprise of the year. So glad that they have amped up the funkiness of their sound, the bass playing is absolutely spectacular. While I've never found myself to be a particularly huge fan of their vocal style on any sort of music, it does work well to counteract some of the sheer groove on the album (yes, there is such a thing as too much groove). Overall, I would consider the parcels a worth peer of other nu-disco acts such as TWRP. Hopefully they can keep up the cracking pace.
