Norman Fucking Rockwell! is the sixth studio album by American singer and songwriter Lana Del Rey. It was released on August 30, 2019 by Polydor and Interscope Records. The album was primarily produced by Del Rey and Jack Antonoff. Musically, Norman Fucking Rockwell! features a soft rock sound consisting of psych-rock jams and piano ballads and features references to various classic rock artists. The name of the album is a reference to the painter and illustrator Norman Rockwell, who is also Jack Nicholson's grandson.
The album features a strong influence from '70s classic rock. Strings and synth washes this soundtrack of multiple love songs and also has several classic rock references throughout the album, including Neil Young's 'Cinnamon Girl', Crosby, Stills & Nash, and Led Zeppelin's Houses of the Holy with various Laurel Canyon '70s soft-rock fantasies including references to Herbie Hancock, Joni Mitchell and The Eagles while also sounding similar in parts to Daft Punk's 2015's 'Random Access Memories'.

This 2LP format on 180g heavyweight vinyl.

I've been aware of Lana Del Rey since her "Born to Die" record but "NFR" was the first album of hers that I listened to from start to finish as there were a few of the singles that really appealed to me. The album is a masterclass in understatement. Every song is infused with so much melody, much of it in Del Rey's vocal lines. Her voice and lyrics are the star role here but these are backed by immaculately produced arrangements. The singles all come early in the album and while the tempo drops as the album progresses, the quality doesn't drop at all. The dreamy, druggy mood created by sounds and lyrics is something else. I'll definitely be checking out her other albums based on this.
