Dookie is the third studio album and major label debut by American rock band Green Day, released on February 1, 1994 by Warner/Reprise. The band's first collaboration with producer Rob Cavallo, it was recorded in late 1993 at Fantasy Studios in California. Written mostly by frontman Billie Joe Armstrong, the album is mostly based around his personal experiences, with themes such as boredom, anxiety, relationships, and sexuality. Dookie received critical acclaim upon its release.

LP repressing on 1xLP gatefold 180-gram vinyl.

I remember buying this album on a school trip in the 6th grade on the basis of seeing the video for "Longview." I was pretty thrilled at first with the entire set here. "Longview" is one of the best slacker songs of the 90's and "Basket Case" is unbelievably catchy. It took a short time for this album to really catch on to a wider audience. I'm not sure, but I do believe it was right after Woodstock 94' is when they blew up. At the time this was the greatest album ever to me, but for some strange reason this has not held up as well as my other favorites from "back in the day." Anytime I get in a mood to put it in I become increasingly annoyed by Billy Joe's singing. Don't get me wrong I do like this album (check the rating) I just don't love it as much as I used too, but this is by far their best and a 90's classic.
