The Undertones formed in Derry in 1974 and are one of the most successful bands to have emerged from Northern Ireland. Famously championed by John Peel, whose favourite all-time track was 'Teenage Kicks', they released thirteen singles and four studio albums between 1978 and 1983. This compilation brings together 30 tracks recorded by the band during that period, including 'Teenage Kicks', 'My Perfect Cousin', 'Here Comes the Summer', 'Jimmy Jimmy', 'You've Got My Number (Why Don't You Use It!)', 'Wednesday Week' and 'It's Going to Happen'. Also included is the Kevin Shields remix of 'Get Over You'.

Coloured Vinyl

I was so happy to hear this music again after such a long time. I couldn't buy the records back then. I "only" had one concert recording on tape. So of course I don't know all the songs and the studio versions sound a bit unusual. The fact that "Get Over You" (my personal favorite song of all things) is included as a remix version was definitely a good decision.
What I liked best was my kids' reaction: "Undertones? - Cool!" It doesn't need more words.
