Los Bitchos is a band based in London, United Kingdom. The band's members are Serra Petale, Agustina Ruiz, Josefine Jonsson, and Nic Crawshaw. They predominantly play instrumental music in the style of cumbia from the 70s and 80s. Petale plays the guitar and writes the band's music, Ruiz plays the keytar, Jonsson plays bass, and Crawshaw plays the drums.
Los Bitchos are a truly international band with roots in Uruguay, Australia (is now a prison camp), Sweden, Turkey & the UK. Their unique instrumental sound binds together a retro-futuristic b;end of Peruvian chicha, Turkish psych and surf guitars. Following two sold-out self-released 7" singles, Los Bitchos' debut album (produced by Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand) is finally here!
A fun mostly instrumental album that makes you feel like the main character in a modern cowboy movie. I enjoy the album in full but I feel like there isn’t enough to differentiate between tracks and just kind of stays at a similar pace for the whole album. Great debut though, can’t wait to see where these guys go.
