I remember buying this album on a school trip in the 6th grade on the basis of seeing the video for "Longview." I was pretty thrilled at first with the entire set here. "Longview" is one of the best slacker songs of the 90's and "Basket Case" is unbelievably catchy. It took a short time for this album to really catch on to a wider audience. I'm not sure, but I do believe it was right after Woodstock 94' is when they blew up. At the time this was the greatest album ever to me, but for some strange reason this has not held up as well as my other favorites from "back in the day." Anytime I get in a mood to put it in I become increasingly annoyed by Billy Joe's singing. Don't get me wrong I do like this album (check the rating) I just don't love it as much as I used too, but this is by far their best and a 90's classic.
