Greatest Hits, Vol. 1 is Rod Stewart’s 1979 Warner Bros. Records best-of compilation. This 1xLP compilation features Rod’s infamous satin pink shirt. What possessed him to wear this on this particular photo shoot?! He may be a good-looking bastard, but Jesus Christ Rod!

This collection contains all of the Rod Stewart songs I like and at 10 songs its a trim and lean record mixing ballads and rock n'roll. Probably not the most prolific songwriter but he did pen a few bangers to be fair and credit where it is due he is some man to sing a rock n'roll song. "Hot Legs" is good but goes on a bit without changing things up, "Maggie May" is a classic, "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy" is a dance floor filler and ALL TIME great tune, "Your in My Heart", "Sailing" and "I Don't Want to Talk About It" are master classes in rock ballad writing. The rest of the stuff is also good. Bonus marks for the shirt he's wearing in the artwork. Solid and the only real essential Rod Stewart release for casuals.
