I try to avoid buying greatest hits compilations, but sometimes I'd like some songs by an artist without digging through an extensive discography. Based on this compilation, Hall & Oates are prime for this type of release. Judging from the deeper cuts on here, I would not have enjoyed listening through their albums for the songs that I like. This could have easily been trimmed down, as their big hits are really the only good tracks on here (save for possibly one exception or two). Listening to them for over 70 minutes straight gives you a good taste of an artist's tendencies. For Hall & Oates, it's their preference for riding out the final chorus of a song for far too long before fading out, typically throwing in some corny over-the-top ad-libs as well. I find the ad-libs endearing, but not the repetitive endings. When they hit upon a good hook, though, the song can be some fine pop craftsmanship. I bought this a few weeks ago, and since then I've had several instances of one of my favorite tracks being stuck in my head. Favorite Tracks: Rich Girl, Kiss On My List, You Make My Dreams, Private Eyes, I Can't Go For That (No Can Do), Maneater, One On One
