Like all Quintin Tarantino films, each backing song is carefully selected to compliment the on-scene action. The retro tunes, often obscure, set the mood in ways that mere words can not begin to detail. The includion of "Stuck in the Middle With You" will forever carry added weight in association with the scene it is linked to in Reservoir Dogs. Following a jewelry heist gone wrong, the incredulous "Mr. Blonde" goes off with a razor sharp knife and a light-on-his-feet-dance, as he terrorizes a helpless cop while the Stealer's Wheel song plays on in the background during a Super Sounds of the '70s radio program. The almost unwatchable blood-letting scene of cold-hearted torture counters the easy-going song it is associated with, making the scene/song combination a tandem of pure cinematic genius.
