Can was founded in 1968 by Irwin schmidt, Holger czukay, Michael karoli and Jake Liebezeit who formed a group which would utilise and transcend all boundaries of ethnic, electronic experimental and modern classical music. Ege Bamyasi' Drops the haze and hits with a sharp pang from the get-go. Often described as the "tense" Can album, Ege Bambara is actually the band at its most focused, bolstered in part by the surprisingly good performance of the single "Spoon", the proto synth-pop (or synth-rock) song was used as the theme to a popular German television show. The album most famously includes, Vitamin C, according to Pitchfork it's "…still the best funk ever to come out of Europe.".

Limited Edition Green Vinyl.

Can really Travelled far, above and beyond other practitioners of rock music. Even now nothing comes close apart from as pale echoes of their influence. This album is easier to listen to than Tago Mago, Can's previous. It is a more difficult listen than their next, Future Days. All Can's albums are worth listening to. All have something to offer. Edge Bamyasi has moments you could describe as Miles Davis on steroids (Pinch). Sing Swan Song is the most powerful yet fleetingly beautiful piece of music you can imagine. vitamin C is catchy and funky but remains unconventional in its arrangement. If you don't know Can then you need to-and quickly. This album is as good a place as any to start. Play it loud, pay attention and then play it again.
