My wife, who is not a Bruce Springsteen fan, and I saw a preview for Western Stars a few weeks ago and decided to go see it this past weekend. We were not disappointed. It is a truly intimate and beautiful film that chronicles Bruce Springsteen's journey through life in a surprisingly open and reflective way. The music is some of the best work Bruce has done in years, with an old-time California country feel, and for me, the duets he performs with his wife Patti are the highlight. The reason to buy the soundtrack from the film vs. the standard album is to get the benefit of Patti's voice on two tracks: Stones and Moonlight Motel....as well as a rousing cover of Glen Campbell's Rhinestone Cowboy. Go see the film while you still can, and buy this version of the Western Stars soundtrack to get the best of Bruce's new album. Enjoy!
