James Chambers OM (born 30 July 1944), known professionally as Jimmy Cliff, is a Jamaican ska, rocksteady, reggae and soul musician, multi-instrumentalist, singer, and actor. He is the only living reggae musician to hold the Order of Merit, the highest honour that can be granted by the Jamaican government for achievements in the arts and sciences.

Cliff is best known among mainstream audiences for songs such as "Wonderful World, Beautiful People", "Many Rivers to Cross", "You Can Get It If You Really Want", "The Harder They Come", "Reggae Night", and "Hakuna Matata", and his covers of Cat Stevens's "Wild World" and Johnny Nash's "I Can See Clearly Now" from the film Cool Runnings. He starred in the film The Harder They Come, which helped popularize reggae across the world.

OK this is definitely the best reggae compilation album. As far as I am concerned Jimmy Cliff is better than Bob Marley.
And this LP contains Jimmy Cliff's very best work.
When I was twelve years old, in 1984, I got hold of this exquisite Jimmy Cliff album called House of Exile (1974) , and since then the tape has been worn. I have since then, been unable to get another copy of House of Exile, but now I have found this fantastic album which has 12 of Jimmy Cliff's best songs on it.
Songs from the late 60's like `Wonderful World, Beautiful People' and `Many Rivers to Cross'.This is indeed a masterpiece. Let it be your first Cliff album, indeed your first reggae album.
