Sling is the second studio album by American singer and songwriter Clairo. It was released on July 16, 2021, through Fader and Republic. It serves as the follow-up to her debut album, Immunity. The album was announced on June 11, 2021, alongside the release of the lead single, "Blouse".

After its release, Sling received widespread critical acclaim by music critics, praising a noticeable expansion in Cottrill's vocals, and the maturity of her songwriting.

Clairo follows suit with the rest of the music industry and drops Elliot Smith worship co-produced by Jack Antonoff during the pandemic. But something's different about this one.

Following up the volatile "Immunity" Clairo explores depression, anxiety, suicide, how these mental struggles influence our thoughts and dreams, and her place in the world. The lyrical content is quite simple, but personal, powerful, and anthemic to others in her position. the power and warmth of this record come in contrast to the controversial heavy-handedness of Immunity. The album is soft throughout and the vocals are cleanly mixed which allows Clairo to create a more hospitable environment for the distortion she likes to experiment with on some of the instrumentals.

It is truly amazing she was able to create such a perfect slice of the isolation many of us face in today's world at just 22. Not only is that amazing, but her vocals and songwriting leaves her career exciting as there is room to grow. This album is underrated, and my aoty for 2021.
