To me this seems like the throwaway Kendrick album, if such a thing were possible, but listening to it I was thankfully mistaken, being confronted with an album that felt whole despite being made up from the scraps of other projects. The rapping is as good as it gets, Kendrick delivers every time, the flows and lines are crazy, and despite lacking an obvious theme everything still comes together well. The backings are fantastic, since they're leftovers from To Pimp a Butterfly, they get the full custom jazz treatment, and it sounds stunning. The highlights were untitled 02, untitled 03, untitled 05, and untitled 08, while none of the eight tracks are bad. The album cover is ridiculously plain, which is very fitting of an album titled untitled unmastered, yet the unique color is still memorable and fits with Kendrick. Overall, this is extremely good, it may just be because its short but I thought every minute was used perfectly with especially fantastic backings, most rappers wish they could release something of this quality and its only the unused segments from another album, Kendrick might be the best rapper to ever live.
