This album, as a complete package, from start to finish, is an incredibly cohesive package. Musically everything here works, the placement of tracks makes sense and it runs incredibly smoothly.
You have your pop bangers like Bad Guy, All The Good Girls Go to Hell, Ilomilo and more. They are insanely catchy with amazing stripped back instrumentals, great bass lines throughout and vocals which fit the feeling of each track. Then there are the slower, sadder songs, Listen Before I Go or Xanny among others. These again have great stripped back instrumentals, very bassy and vocal driven. On Xanny there are these amazingly disorientating panning vocals, very lush pianos and nice backing vocals. The mood of every track is very clear, I love it. Also adding to the idea of a complete experience you get lyrics throughout which link songs,Ilomilo has lyrics like:
The world's a little blurry
Or maybe it's my eyes
The friends I've had to bury
They keep me up at night
Said I couldn't love someone
'Cause I might break
If you're gonna die, not by mistake
Referring pretty clearly to Bury a Friend. Or in Goodbye where quite literally every lyric is a reference to every song prior. Each line of the verse refers to every song on the album in reverse order. For a complete listening experience I liked this level of attention to detail. It makes it feel as if it is actually meant to be a whole experience and everything is supposed to work as it does. I have some issue with I Love You simply because I cringe quite a bit when listening to the lyrics but on repeat listens I'm enjoying it more and more. The sound is sweet and is a nice meditative moment before the final track.
As a quick side note, related to the artist but not the music. If for some reason you dislike Billie Eilish as a result of the insane amount of hype and praise she was getting around this album or you dislike her because of her fans and simply cannot enjoy her output because of others as opposed to maybe just listening to her music, you're a dickhead. Plain and simple, get your head out your arse. Judge the music, not her or her fans.

When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Billie Eilish (real name: Billie Eilish Pirate Baird O'Connell). It was released on March 29, 2019, by Darkroom and Interscope Records in the US and Polydor Records in the UK. Eilish largely co-wrote the album with her brother Finneas O’Connell, who produced its music at his small bedroom studio in Highland Park, Los Angeles.
Musically, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? has been characterized as a pop, electro-pop, avant-pop and art pop album though it also features influences from hip hop and industrial music. Its songs explore themes such as modern youth, drug addiction, heartbreak, suicide, and mental health, with lyrical sensibilities of humor and horror. Eilish said the album was inspired in part by lucid dreaming and night terrors, which are reflected on the cover photo.
