In my humble opinion, this is quite simply the best-sequenced, best-sounding (since it was remastered in '02) and all-around best Stones collection of them all. 40 Licks would have had it beat (almost) but the tracks were not in chronological order (which I know is a bitchy complaint but I notice those kinds of things). Also, I just like the old-school album cover. Maybe I'm weird.......but getting back to the music. This double-disc compilation featured a solid chunk of prime Stones. It has most of the hits that one would expect from the early Stones (although I wish it had "Live With Me", "Stray Cat Blues", "The Last Time", "2000 Light Years from Home", "Not Fade Away", "Little Red Rooster"). To really get the true spectrum of the music that the Stones played in the early days, I would definitely recommend most of the albums released between 1964 and 1969 but for someone new to the Stones or simply someone who wants a solid collection of the hits, you could do a lot worse than starting here.
